International Relations Students visit the Assembly

Department of International Relations students of Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, visited the Assembly of the Republic within the scope of the course “Comparative Politics.”

Chairperson of CIU Department off International Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sertaç Sonan and his third year students were guests of the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic, Fazilet Özdenefe. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to meet with Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Fazilet Özdenefe and CTP (Republican Turkish party) MPs Armağan Candan ve Ürün Solyalı. They had the opportunity to learn about the structure of the Republican Assembly, and were informed about the activities of the Assembly as regards international relations and their legislative processes. After the meeting held in the Zalihe Çavuşoğlu Meeting Hall, the students also had the opportunity to see the General Assembly hall.

Sonan, Chairperson of CIU Department of International Relations, stated that the students had the chance to experience their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting during the said visit and noted that they had the opportunity to get to know how the legislature of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus functioned.
